A new tool from HealthITJobs.com helps health information technology professionals understand how their pay stacks up against peers in other organizations.

For instance, a business analyst in the Southeast making $70,000 a year may find that nearly half of peers make more money and the average salary for them is $90,000 with $120,000 as the maximum.

The tool charts pay levels relative to function, experience, location and type of organization. These types can include hospitals and delivery systems, clinics, physician practices, academia, consultancies, insurers and vendors, among others.
