MCIS, the health information technology unit of Marshfield Clinic, has combined its suite of homegrown electronic health records software with the revenue cycle management software and services of ambulatory vendor CareCloud.

MCIS already offers its clinical software commercially to other providers with 18,000 users in more than 80 specialties and the deal with CareCloud will open new commercial opportunities for both companies.

Under the agreement, MCIS matches a cloud-based EHR, clinical decision support optimized for population health analysis, and a patient portal with CareCloud’s practice management system, revenue cycle analytics and outsourced billing and collections services.

Large physician practices are the target audience for the joint product line that will be commercially available at HIMSS15.
