INTEGRIS selects new data platform to support caregivers

INTEGRIS Health has selected the Health Catalyst Data Operating System to centralize data from the Epic electronic health record, along with financial, operational and patient satisfaction data.

Executives at the system, the largest not-for-profit healthcare organization in Oklahoma, say the Health Catalyst DOS will provide an environment to take data from disparate systems for analysis and pinpoint enterprisewide opportunities for measurable improvements.

“A key strategy for INTEGRIS is to provide our caregivers with great clinical and business intelligence to help them continuously improve the care we provide,” says Timothy Peyrson, president and CEO at the delivery system. “Health Catalyst provides the perfect blend of data science and tools that INTEGRIS caregivers need to improve care and value to the people we serve.”

INTEGRIS-affiliated hospitals have 1,800 licensed beds, 1,400 physicians and 10,500 employees, as well as 11 Centers of Excellence along with research, patient support groups and educational programs for the community. About 60 percent of state residents live within 30 miles of an INTEGRIS facility or physician.

Applications built on the Health Catalyst DOS platform cover population health, true cost of care, executive decision support, benchmarking, prioritizing improvement opportunities; and monitoring, detecting, predicting and preventing threats to patient safety.

“We believe that Health Catalyst offers the most mature analytics toolset in the healthcare market today,” contends Benjamin Mansalis, MD, and vice president of clinical and business intelligence at INTEGRIS.

Here are other health information technology contract wins and go-lives announced during the past week.
  • University of Vermont Health Network has signed a 10-year contract to implement technologies and services to develop a more seamless patient experience in a collaboration with Royal Philips. Connecting the Vermont network with imaging systems, ultrasound, patient monitoring and clinical informatics tools will compliment a range of clinical and business consulting services. Six participating hospitals in Vermont and New York will work to ensure patients get the right care in the right place and at the right time. Having predictability of costs also is a goal for Vermont Health Network.

  • St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in the Hospital Sisters Health System serving parts of Illinois and Wisconsin has gone live on the Epic electronic health record, completing a four-year program to finish adoption of the EHR across the enterprise. The implementation includes a patient portal. St. Anthony’s previously used the Meditech EHR.
  • Intermountain Healthcare and its revenue cycle management vendor R1 RCM have collaborated on the opening of the new Salt Lake City Technology and Innovation Center. “Partnering with R1 aligns with our philosophy of letting those who are superbly skilled in key operational areas, such as revenue cycle management, do what they do best so we can do what we do best, which is to provide excellent patient care,” says Marc Harrison, MD, CEO at Intermountain Healthcare. “R1 is changing the way the revenue cycle is managed by redefining the processes and then maximizing the use of intelligent automation, which we believe will help Intermountain and healthcare providers across the country improve their financial results and the patients’ experience,” adds Bert Zimmerli, chief financial officer at Intermountain.
  • Southwest X-Ray in El Paso, Texas, is live on the digital PET/CT system of United Imaging. “It’s important to Southwest X-Ray that we continue to bring the latest high quality innovative technology to the community of El Paso,” says Fernando Escarzaga, CEO of the organization. “Through partnering with United Imaging on this project, we continue to be one step ahead for our patients who now have access to advanced digital PET/CT technology in our outpatient facility.”
