The Office of the National Coordinator and the National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering will sponsor a two-day workshop on combining medical images and electronic health records.

The workshop can help organizations get a handle on what is likely to become part of meaningful use criteria. The event is titled, Images, Electronic Health Records and Meaningful Use: A Vision for the Future.

"The goal of this workshop is to understand the value of access to images as part of the meaningful use of electronic medical records and to discuss future considerations for all stakeholders," according to an explanation from sponsors.

The workshop is scheduled for Jan. 10-11 in Bethesda, M.D., with registration by Jan. 3. A $50 fee covers the cost of meals. Click here for details.
