Vista Equity to Acquire Sage Healthcare

San Francisco-based Vista Equity Partners has definitely agreed to acquire physician vendor Sage Software Healthcare, known as Sage Healthcare, for $320 million. The companies expect the acquisition to close in November.


San Francisco-based Vista Equity Partners has definitely agreed to acquire physician vendor Sage Software Healthcare, known as Sage Healthcare, for $320 million. The companies expect the acquisition to close in November.

The Sage Group plc, a vendor of business management software serving multiple industries, paid $565 million in September 2006 for the practices services division of Emdeon, which was the former Medical Manager line of physician software. Sage Healthcare went through a series of leadership changes during the past five years.

Sage Healthcare revenue for the year ended Sept. 30, 2010, totaled about $245 million. Sage Group expects an overall loss on disposal of Sage Healthcare of $94 million to $109 million.
