Thomson Reuters Lands Alabama HIE Deal
Alabama’s statewide health information exchange will use the HIE Advantage product of Thomson Reuters as its technology platform.

The vendor has private-labeled the HIEBus software of CareEvolution Inc., Ann Arbor, Mich., and augmented it with data analytics and reporting software.
The Alabama HIE, called One Health Record, will connect with local health information organizations to reach providers, and Medicaid will contribute claims data. Other available information and functions will include laboratory orders and results, medical imaging reports, medical history, medications, eligibility/authorization transactions and electronic prescribing.
West Virginia also recently selected Thomson Reuters for its statewide HIE. More information on the Alabama program is available at http://onehealthrecord.alabama.gov.
