Quality Systems Inc. is selling the hospital business unit of NextGen Healthcare Information Systems to QuadraMed Affinity Corp., which is part of the Harris Operating Group.

Quality Systems Inc. has sold the hospital business unit of NextGen Healthcare Information Systems to QuadraMed Affinity Corp., which is part of the Harris Operating Group that also owns CareTracker and MedSolution.

Terms were not disclosed. QuadraMed and NextGen officials did not immediately respond to requests for additional information on the deal, announced late Thursday afternoon.

QuadraMed is a veteran vendor that for years has sold the inpatient QCPR electronic health record system and never got much market share. It also sells patient kiosks and mobile check-in software, as well as enterprise scheduling, revenue cycle management and enterprise master patient index applications.

Now, QuadraMed will pick up NextGen’s relatively small hospital business that primarily serves rural and critical access hospitals. The deal enables NextGen to focus on its ambulatory business.
