The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology continues developing a strategy for empowering consumers to adopt health information technology and is changing some of its initial objectives based on industry feedback.
In a new posting on ONC's Health IT Buzz blog, Jodi Daniel, director of the office of policy and planning, lays out the changes and presents the latest thinking on the strategy. For instance, ONC officials are reconsidering use of the term "consumer" and may use "individual" instead, and they are seeking industry comment.
