Computer Programs and Systems Inc. has introduced a new platform for its clinical/financial/administrative hospital information system for community and rural facilities.

The platform includes a Linux operating system and user interface that supports access from iOS, Android, Windows, Mac and Linux-based computing devices. An open source, SQL-compliant database enables more efficient mining of data from the electronic records system, according to the Mobile, Ala.-based vendor. Existing customers will receive the new database at no additional cost.

CPSI a year ago started an I.T. management and professional services unit covering network, server and storage management; hosted e-mail; firewall management and malware protection; data center services; and help desk functions. Professional services include I.T. staffing, infrastructure assessment and project management for CPOE, meaningful use and other engagements.
