New Mexico health center picks eClinicalWorks EHR

In other implementations, Mary Free Bed Rehab selects Synzi care communication platform.

Here is Health Data Management’s weekly roundup of health IT contract wins and go-lives.
  • La Clinica de Familia, a federally qualified health center in Dona Ana County, N.M., is leaving its incumbent electronic health records vendor and will implement the EHR of eClinicalWorks. The center has 155 providers serving in 19 locations, with five of the clinics in schools. “LCDF seeks to systematically connect its primary care, dental care, behavioral health and ancillary services to better meet all patient health needs,” says Vigil Medina, CEO at La Clinica de Familia. “No matter where the patient presents in our system, the personal health record will be accessible for providers and staff.”
  • Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital in Michigan has selected a virtual care communication platform from Synzi to streamline admissions by remotely connecting clinicians and patients. The platform also will support telehealth consultations across the system of more than 30 allied hospitals in the state. Software enables clinicians to create patient programs and message templates for communication via email and SMS/text, which along with virtual visits is expected to improve patient satisfaction.

  • Baptist Health South Florida has completed several installations of the Acuson Sequoia ultrasound systems from Siemens Healthineers to enhance imaging capabilities, with a focus on gastroenterology, primary care and bariatric specialties. The vendor built the new Acuson Sequoia system to adapt to the “BioAcoustic Variations” of each patient with characteristics that include tissue density, stiffness and absorption.
  • Spectrum Health & Human Services in Grand Rapids, Mich., is expanding its long-term relationship with Cerner, this time implementing the vendor’s community behavioral health software designed for organizations that treat psychological disorders, as well as other challenges associated with mental health and substance abuse issues. Patients and families will have access to the patient portal and be able to share self-reported information, schedule appointments and communicate with the care team.
  • Beacon Health System in South Bend, Ind., will adopt care coordination software from MyHealthDirect to enhance patient access. Patients will be offered self-scheduling with guidance to the right care based on condition and provider availability. The delivery system’s orthopedic group and mammogram centers will be the first to use the technology before it is deployed to all 400 providers. “When we considered solutions to enable self-scheduling for our patients, MyHealthDirect was clearly the best option because of their ability to accurately automate complex scheduling scenarios,” says Mary Kuhr, director of Beacon Experience and Digital Design at Beacon Health System.
