The North Carolina Healthcare Information & Communications Alliance has released a mobile app version of its breach notification risk assessment tool.

NCHICA, a consortium of 230 stakeholder organizations, developed the app with Oak Grove Technologies. It enables information technology staff and security professionals to make a preliminary assessment of whether a breach has occurred, compiles a risk score, walks through actions required under the HITECH Act and facilitates notification to other staff members to determine if an investigation should be conducted.

The app, costing $1.99, is available here on iTunes.
