Scott Storrer has resigned his positions of president and CEO at payer software vendor MEDecision Inc. after only eight months on the job.
Storrer resigned to pursue other opportunities, according to the Wayne, Pa.-based company. He joined MEDecision in as president and COO in late 2008 under a plan to eventually succeed founder David St. Clair as CEO, which occurred in November 2009. Now, St. Clair, who retired at the end of 2009 but remained on the board, will return as interim CEO while the company searches for a permanent replacement.
MEDecision sells case, disease and utilization management software, as well as health information exchange, patient care summary and personal health records applications. The company is a subsidiary of Health Care Service Corp., which operates Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans in Illinois, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas. More information is available at medecision.com.
