An illustrated look at some of the more offbeat ICD-10 codes is starting to go viral, from blog posts from healthcare consultancies to physician’s assistants' Facebook news feeds.

A group of Madison, Wis.-based health IT experts and artists combined to produce "Struck By Orca: ICD-10 Illustrated," a guide to some of the humorously obscure examples of the next International ICD iteration, according to the Wisconsin Technology Council.

In addition to the title code (W56.22xA), the book includes gems such as "Inadequate social skills, not elsewhere classified" (Z73.4), "Burn due to water skis on fire, subsequent encounter" (V91.07xD), and "Opera house as the place of occurrence of the external cause" (Y92.253).

Readers may also be happy to find out the company, ICD-10 Illustrated LLC, plans to release a sequel of sorts--"Meaningful Use Stage 2 illustrated"--in September 2014.
