The Methodist Hospital of Houston is linking its acute care electronic health record system with affiliated physicians' disparate ambulatory EHRs.
The hospital's EHR is from Atlanta-based Eclipsys Corp., which is supplying its HealthXchange platform to link to more than 200 physicians in an initial rollout. Exchange of data between the hospital and affiliated physicians will assist the organizations in meeting meaningful use requirements for Medicare and Medicaid incentive payments under the HITECH Act.
The platform also will support paper-based practices by enabling them to receive and exchange clinical data via WebAccess e-mail. More information is available at eclipsys.com and methodisthealth.com.
