Polaris Medical Management, a management services organization serving 170 physicians in Rhode Island, will integrate its homegrown electronic health records system with clinical decision support software from DiagnosisONE, Lowell, Mass.

About 80 percent of Polaris' physician members use the EpiChart homegrown EHR and the integration should be done in early January, says Noah Benedict, COO. The goal is to offer the decision support software with a handful of other EHRs being used by Polaris members by late 2011.

Polaris expects to obtain meaningful use and CCHIT 2011 certification of EpiChart in January, Benedict says. Integration of the decision support software will ease compliance with meaningful use measures. The company selected DiagnosisONE because the software was the most flexible for conducting data analytics and tracking measures, he adds.
