Hoag Memorial Presbyterian Hospital in Newport Beach, Calif., is building a community health information exchange to link closer to local physicians.
The 498-bed facility is using the HIE technology of Medicity Inc., Salt Lake City. Initial services will support test ordering and results, patient referrals and care coordination. Future stages include data aggregation and presentation, identity management services, registries and establishing a longitudinal community health record.
The HIE will integrate with personal health records applications, including those from Google Health and Microsoft HealthVault. More information is available at hoaghospital.org and medicity.com.
