HMS’ Parent buys ER Vendor

HealthTech Holdings, parent company of community hospital information systems vendor Healthcare Management Systems Inc., has acquired emergency department information systems vendor MEDHOST Inc. for an undisclosed sum.


HealthTech Holdings, parent company of community hospital information systems vendor Healthcare Management Systems Inc., has acquired emergency department information systems vendor MEDHOST Inc. for an undisclosed sum.

Addison, Texas-based MEDHOST will continue to market its ER software to larger hospitals. But the company, with HMS, will develop an integrated ER system for HMS' enterprisewide clinical/financial information systems for community hospitals.

HealthTech Holdings expects combined revenue from HMS and MEDHOST of more than $100 million in 2010. More information is available at hmstn.com and medhost.com.
