HIS Vendor Gets More Investors

Rural and community hospital software vendor Prognosis Health Information Systems Inc. has received a minority investment led by OpenView Partners, a Boston-based equity firm.


Rural and community hospital software vendor Prognosis Health Information Systems Inc. has received a minority investment led by OpenView Partners, a Boston-based equity firm.

Terms of the investment, under which OpenView gains a seat on Prognosis' board, were not disclosed. The funds will enable the Houston-based vendor to accelerate marketing of its inpatient electronic health record system that has been certified as supporting meaningful use criteria.

The investment is the second this year in health information technology for OpenView. The firm previously invested $9.5 million in Kareo, Inc., which sells Web-based medical billing software. More information is available at prognosishis.com and openviewpartners.com.
