HFMA Nod to Cardon

The Healthcare Financial Management Association has awarded its “peer reviewed” designation to software from Cardon Healthcare Network. The designated software is Cardon’s third-party eligibility product, which works in conjunction with a health care provider's self-pay patient accounts, converting them to Medicaid or other eligible third-party payer sources. The program screens patients before and after discharge. The annual HFMA review process involves collecting feedback from current users through the distribution of surveys. “For years HFMA members have asked us to identify viable healthcare finance resources and to filter some of the noise in the market place," says HFMA President Richard L. Clarke. "We see the new Peer Review Process as a powerful opportunity to do just that."

In other news, HFMA announced its annual conference would take place in Las Vegas, June 20-23. The association had to move the conference from Nashville due to severe flooding. The Las Vegas event will take place at the Sands Expo Center.
