Fujifilm to add Availity services to its Synapse RIS
Fujifilm Medical Systems is pairing with Availity to provide an integrated solution for patient financial engagement and automated insurance pre-authorizations, intended to bring additional value and utility to Fujifilm’s radiology information systems.
The new alliance between the companies augments Fujifilm’s Synapse RIS, its web-based radiology management system, with the intent of bringing additional value to radiology groups and imaging center practices.
Fujifilm aims to provide these radiology practices with Synapse, a wide-ranging solution that encompasses a picture archiving and communication system (PACS), integrated radiology information system, billing, and physician and patient portals. The venture with Availity will add on patient communication and administration functionality.
“By working with Availity, Fujifilm can now offer new revenue cycle solutions and patient engagement tools that weren’t previously available with Synapse RIS,” says Bill Lacy, vice president of medical informatics at Fujifilm Medical Systems USA. The Availity partnership “further strengthens (our product) portfolio and provides our customers what they need to optimize their imaging business.”
Under the partnership Availity Authorizations and Availity Patient Access will be integrated into the Synapse RIS interface via API, enabling imaging providers to improve point-of-service collections, reduce denied claims and create more efficient and seamless workflows.
Availity Authorizations is a secure cloud platform that enables automated, real-time submissions, intended to eliminate manual authorization tasks, while also helping providers streamline scheduling and avoid costly denials by ensuring that services are rendered only when an authorization has been approved.
Availity Patient Access enables pre-visit insights into every patient’s financial obligation and capacity to pay, and lets providers offer payment options for services.
