A health information technology consultancy and two billing/software firms have acquired complementary companies in recent days.

Santa Rosa Consulting Inc. of Franklin, Tenn., led by HIT veteran Rich Helppie, has bought InfoPartners Inc. for an undisclosed price. The deal brings more than 40 new hospital clients to Santa Rosa.

Ambulatory billing firm MTBC of Somerset, N.J., which also has practice management and electronic health records software, has entered the hospital and health systems billing market by acquiring GlobalNet Solutions Inc. of Mansfield, Ohio. MTBC also gains enhanced coding expertise. Terms were not disclosed.

Asterino & Associates of Scottsdale, Ariz., which provides billing services and software to physician practices, has bought Phoenix-based Doctor Solutions Inc. to expand its presence in the region. Terms were not disclosed. Doctor Solutions also resells Aprima practice management and EHR software.
