The HIT Policy Committee has issued a request for comments on a preliminary set of recommendations for Stage 2 electronic health records meaningful use criteria.
"Note, this RFC solely represents the preliminary thinking of the HITPC and its Meaningful Use Workgroup," the committee cautions in the request, available here.
The request for comments is designed to signal to the industry potential new EHR functionalities that may be recommended, extend industry discussion of future MU definitions well in advance of final committee recommendations in the summer, and gain industry input on specific questions.
Comments are due by the end of business on Feb. 25 and the HIT Policy Committee expects to revisit the preliminary recommends in the spring.
