ER Vendor Adopts Biometrics

West Palm Beach, Fla.-based ScriptRx has integrated fingerprint biometrics technology into its information systems for emergency rooms and urgent care centers.

The vendor is using the U.are.U technology of DigitalPersona Inc., Redwood City, Calif. The kiosk-based system enables one-touch access to registration, medical records charting, discharge, electronic prescribing, and medication reconciliation applications, among others. This means clinicians no longer need to remember different passwords for various information systems.
