Eligible professionals who did not attest to meaningful use of electronic health records under the Medicare EHR Incentive program during 2014 must soon take steps to avoid paying a financial penalty on their Medicare reimbursement during 2016.
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is advising that eligible professionals meeting certain criteria apply for a hardship exemption by July 1. Here is more information from a CMS notice:
