The new Fiscal Cliff law includes several changes to Medicare policies beyond the annual “Doc-Fix” payment policy. Below, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services explains some of the changes in a statement issued on January 3 with more updates forthcoming.
But what CMS leaves out in this first explanation is that hospitals primarily will pay for the latest “Doc-Fix” that prevented a massive reduction in Medicare payments to physicians in 2013, according to Kaiser Health News.
