CHIME to assume direction of annual Most Wired survey

The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives will be operating the HealthCare’s Most Wired program, one of the healthcare IT industry’s bellwether programs for measuring the progress of healthcare facilities in implementing information technology.

CHIME assumes the role of directing the intensive survey effort from the American Hospital Association, which has operated the Most Wired Survey since 1999.

Under the agreement with the AHA, CHIME will assume all aspects of the popular survey and benchmarking program.

CHIME has been a long-time sponsor of the Most Wired program and has been increasingly involved over the last several years. In the past, CHIME members have helped to improve the survey instrument as volunteers.

As an organization, CHIME transitioned to a partner role with the AHA in 2015, assisting the national hospital organization in spotlighting the accomplishments of the healthcare IT community and share the results.

"CHIME provides an ideal home for Most Wired," said Maryjane Wurth, AHA's executive vice president and chief operating officer and president and CEO of Health Forum. "CHIME has direct access to the healthcare IT leaders who participate in the survey and who benefit from knowing the trends that emerge in the results."

"Most Wired is a valuable resource for CHIME's members, and for their hospitals and healthcare systems," said CHIME president and CEO Russell Branzell. "CHIME is honored to have the opportunity to continue this tradition of acknowledging exceptional healthcare IT leadership and, through the survey results, identifying and sharing best practices."
