The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has scheduled a series of six calls with electronic health records vendors to walk through the Stage 2 meaningful use public health menu objective for reporting cancer cases to a cancer registry.

The calls are designed to enable vendors to ask questions and receive technical assistance as they develop the required reporting capability. The objective for menu set measure 5 is: “Capability to identify and report cancer cases to a public health central cancer registry, except where prohibited, and in accordance with applicable law and practice. The measure is: Successful ongoing submission of cancer case information from certified electronic health record technology to a public health central cancer registry for the entire EHR reporting period.”
