Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH, currently using the Sunrise acute care, critical care and pharmacy applications of Allscripts, is substantially expanding its relationship with the vendor to develop a single comprehensive patient record that integrates with all hospital departments and ambulatory care. New modules to be implemented include decision support, ambulatory, emergency and surgical care; radiology, financial management, enterprise registration and scheduling, critical care, patient portal, data analytics and mobile applications for the iPad. The 330-bed hospital has worked with Allscripts for 13 years.

Cedar Valley Medical Specialists in Waterloo, Iowa, will implement the electronic health records and population health management software of eClinicalWorks across 90 providers, 40 administrative staff and 400 other employees supporting 20 primary and specialty services. The organization is replacing information systems from Allscripts and GE Healthcare to have more advanced tools, says Gil Irey, CEO. Cedar Valley also will use the vendor’s patient engagement software to support scheduling appointments, viewing lab results and secure messaging with providers.

Community Hospital Anderson of Indiana, part of Community Health Network, has gone live on biometric-based patient identification technology from Imprivata. The software helps improve patient safety by linking each patient to their unique electronic medical record while also eliminating duplicate records and preventing identity theft and insurance card sharing. Departments using biometric technology include the Women’s Center, outpatient lab, emergency department, trauma center, day surgery center and obstetrics.

Vail Valley Medical Center in Colorado has chosen Spok as its vendor of secure messaging software. The messaging platform will automate manual and paper processes for physician on-call scheduling, clinical alerts and emergency notifications while improving care team communication and collaboration in the 58-bed hospital and outpatient settings.

RCCH HealthCare Partners in Brentwood, Tenn., with 17 regional health systems in 13 states and more than 14,000 employees and 2,000 providers, has selected the interface engine of Summit Healthcare. Each of the RCCH hospitals previously maintained their own interface engines and now will streamline all interface activity from a single source to gain economies of scale and efficiencies. Common interfaces can be saved in reusable templates saving time and speeding development of interfaces.
