Health data analysis and benchmarking firm Press Ganey Associates has teamed with the American Medical Group Association to develop a survey tool to aid accountable care organizations in identifying opportunities for improved quality and efficiency.

Called the Coordinated Care Solution, the tool is designed to measure patient experience across the continuum of care. To assess patient and provider engagement, the tool assesses patient perspectives in such areas as effectiveness of the care team, communication and coordination across care settings, cost, and the degree of patient choice in care settings.

The organizations say the insights gained using the tool go far beyond other types of measurement that often focus on specific events and not the entire episode of care. Geisinger Health System was a pilot site. More information is at
