Many vendors at the American Health Information Management Association’s annual conference in Atlanta announced new products and services during the show. Here’s a handful from vendors that spoke with Health Data Management:

Nuance Communications in a new version of its Clintegrity 360 suite of software now has integrated clinical documentation improvement and ICD-9/ICD-10 computer-assisted coding functions into a single platform that also includes natural language processing.

Wacom, a vendor of electronic signature pads serving multiple industries, has launched two new products for health care organizations. The STU-530 signature pad has a 5-inch high resolution color screen, and the STU-430 as a 4.5-inch black-and-white screen. Both have cordless, battery free pens powered by a magnetic field in the devices. And both devices can be used for more than displaying consent forms and other documentation and getting signatures, such as aiding in a treatment plan by displaying an image of a tumor and tracing where to pinpoint radiation, or to explain a procedure to a patient. Both devices also measure and collect data to confirm a signature, such as pen strokes, direction, the pressure used to write, pen movements between strokes, and velocity.

Document management and electronic health records vendor Streamline Health has signed a 15-year license with Montefiore Medical Center in New York to commercialize the hospital’s clinical data analytics technology first rolled out in 2002. Streamline Health also will acquire Montefiore’s existing contract with the Bronx RHIO, which uses the technology to enable providers to query and analyze patient data to support population health management.

The book covers groupings, quality assurance measures, hospital-acquired conditions, risk adjusters, and evidence-based guidelines for coding multiple complex clinical conditions such as sepsis, respiratory failure and renal failure.
