2015 Key Dates for Practice Managers, from MGMA
The coming year includes seven deadlines related to federal government initiatives--including three deadlines on Feb. 28 alone--that physician practice administrators should circle on their calendars. These deadlines are subject to change based on the actions of Congress and the Obama Administration.

Feb. 28: Deadline to request an informal review of the 2015 PQRS penalty based on 2013 reporting and 2013 PQRS incentive eligibility (mgma.org/pqrs).

Feb. 28: Last day to request a correction to a physician’s 2015 value-based payment modifier (mgma.org/vbpm).
Feb. 28: Deadline for eligible professionals to attest to meaningful use of an EHR for the 2014 program year (mgma.org/meaningfuluse).

March 31: Current sustainable growth rate “doc fix” in the Protecting Access to Medicare Act of 2014 expires and a 21.1% cut to physician payment will go into effect April 1, unless Congress intervenes (mgma.org/medicare-payment-policies).
June 30: Deadline to register for the 2015 PQRS group practice reporting option (mgma.org/pqrs).
