Wasp Barcode Technologies has introduced a new wireless bar code scanner with antimicrobial protection for the health care environment.
The WWS450H scanner includes a base to charge the scanner and provide wireless connectivity to the scanner for a range of almost 300 feet. Data collected on the scanner is transmitted to the base, then to a spreadsheet, document or database via a USB connection to a computer.
The scanner can hold 256 scans in a memory if out of range of the base, and survives a four-foot drop to concrete, according to the Plano, Texas-based vendor. A scanner and base cost $795. More information is available at waspbarcode.com.
