Federal stimulus money has funded 62 RECs across the nation to provide a range of consulting and technical services to aid providers in adopting EHRs. Many of the RECs have vetted and endorsed, or recommended, a set of EHR vendors. In essence, RECs are doing vendor due diligence for providers and giving them a list of finalists to consider.

In West Virginia, the selected vendors are Allscripts, athenahealth, eClinicalWorks, e-MDs, GE Healthcare, Greenway Medical, NextGen Healthcare and Sage. More information is available at wvrhitec.org.
