Lineagen Inc., a specialty diagnostics firm offering genetic testing and consultative services for Autism Spectrum Disorders, has launched a Web site that offers an online version of the Modified Checklist for Autism in Toddlers.

M-CHAT is a screening for children at 16 and 30 months of age. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends a broad developmental set of screenings at 9, 18 and 24 months of age, including autism checks at 18 and 24 months.

The new M-CHAT.org Web site from Salt Lake City-based Lineagen offers immediate, online scoring for parents and clinicians. Results can be printed or stored for comparison with subsequent screenings on a HIPAA-compliant platform, according to the company. Authors of the paper-based M-CHAT have endorsed the online version.
