The Electronic Healthcare Network Accreditation  Commission will host a free 90-minute Web seminar on May 30 to walk through using the Direct Project secure messaging protocols to comply with Stage 2 electronic health records meaningful use measures.

Industry-sponsored EHNAC accredits a variety of transactions processing entities for meeting specific criteria for best business practices. Speakers at the Web seminar will include: David Kibbe, M.D., president/CEO at DirectTrust; Andy Heeren, a network director at Cerner Corp.; Don Jorgenson, CEO at Inpriva; Ron Moser, senior auditor at EHNAC; and Claudia Williams, director of the state health information exchange program at the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology.

The speakers will discuss difference between EHR certification and security/trust accreditation of health information service providers and security organizations, ways to reduce exposure of protected health information, best practices for working with Direct exchange participants, and preparations to implement the Direct technology. They’ll also take questions.
