The Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange and CAQH will host a Web seminar on Sept. 26 on preparing for the CORE operating rules to tighten the HIPAA eligibility and claim status transaction standards.

The Affordable Care Act mandates adoption of a series of operating rules between 2013 and 2016, starting with eligibility and claim status, which have a Jan. 1, 2013, compliance date. The 90-minute seminar, at 2:00 Eastern Time, will explain the operating rules, and present conformance testing examples and available implementation resources.

Speakers are Alison Schambach, senior healthcare business consultant at Edifecs, an authorized CORE operating rules testing entity; and Robert Bowman, CORE manager at CAQH. The cost is $99 for WEDI and CAQH members and $199 for nonmembers. More information and registration is available here.
