Adventist aims to improve imaging efficiency with Agfa deal
Adventist Health System aims to increase productivity and better customer service through its selection of Agfa Healthcare to provide direct radiography products and related software for one of its value-based care programs.
The Greenville, S.C.-based integrated healthcare system has selected the Agfa DR direct radiology product line to maximize existing imaging investments. It expect the purchase to improve efficiency with cassette-less workflow; and it will enable other efficiencies by allowing access to intelligent MUSICA Image Processing software throughout the enterprise.
The purchase decision underscores the long-term relationship that Agfa HealthCare's role has as a trusted Adventist Health System supplier.
Florida Hospital, part of Adventist Health System, is turning to Agfa HealthCare to make an investment in direct radiography, a form of X-ray imaging in which digital X-ray sensors are used instead of traditional photographic film. Implementing more than 80 upgrades to the Agfa technology at 18 sites enables Florida Hospital to advance its value-based care initiative by delivering the benefits of DR.
Executives at the hospital say the upgrade will enable the facility to optimize the experience and care of patients; provide a smooth, efficient workflow for clinicians; and enhance the hospital's productivity by making the processes more efficient.
"Our goal is to increase productivity while continuing working toward our mission to provide exceptional, whole-person care," said Elizabeth Evans, modality manager at Florida Hospital Imaging Enterprise. "As a national leader in quality, safety and patient satisfaction, it is important for us to invest in technology, because innovation will allow us to offer the best care to our patients."
Adventist’s whole-person approach to healthcare uses an integrated approach to prevention, wellness and recovery; it includes the physical, spiritual, emotional, social and mental components of each person.
