The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services will host a National Provider Call on April 18 to give guidance to providers as they begin transitioning to the ICD-10 code sets during 2013. The ICD-10 compliance date is Oct. 1, 2014.

The call, which includes a Web presentation, is free. CMS experts will review basic information on the transition and discuss implementation planning and preparation strategies, then take questions. Other issues on the agenda include claims processing, national implementation issues, national coverage decisions and outreach programs.

The target audience, according to a CMS notice, includes coders, physicians and other practitioners, office staff, medical records personnel, vendors, educators, information system professionals, laboratories and all Medicare fee-for-service providers.

More information and registration for the call is available here, along with upcoming calls in April covering 2013 PQRS group practice reporting, the Medicare Shared Savings program application, and End Stage Renal Disease low-volume payment adjustments.
