Health insurer UnitedHealthcare is offering members the online bill paying services of the Quicken Health Expense Tracker software from Intuit Inc., Mountain View, Calif.
The Ingenix subsidiary of UnitedHealth Group helped develop Quicken Health Expense Tracker, and UnitedHealthcare has been offering other modules of the product. After piloting the online payment feature, the insurer now is making it widely available. Insurers Cigna and Medical Mutual of Ohio already offer the online payment.
Minnetonka, Minn.-based UnitedHealthcare also has enhanced its proprietary Treatment Cost Estimator application to include physician-specific pricing on services and procedures across 400 different markets. The software also estimates a patient's payment responsibility and reminds them of any funds available in a health care account that could be used to pay the expenses.
