The Office of Research Information Systems at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has developed Web-based software to manage all facets of grant-funded research by universities and health organizations.

UNC-Chapel Hill also has selected Portland, Ore.-based Cayuse Inc. as the exclusive seller, implementer and supporter of the software, called RAMSeS. The organizations are completing integration of RAMSeS with Cayuse's proposal development software, called Cayuse 424.

The combined applications will handle workflows, certifications, reviews and reporting requirements for research organizations of any size. Various customizable modules cover such functions as pre- and post-award grant management, human subjects compliance, animal research compliance, management of animal care facilities, conflict of interest certification, technology transfer and intellectual property management.
