University of Kentucky Healthcare will use the medical transcription services and data mining software of Webmedx Inc.

The Lexington-based delivery system is implementing the services throughout its three campuses. The data mining application, called QualityAnalytics, enables the mining of discrete data from a transcribed report, according to the Atlanta-based vendor.

Data from the reports can be combined with data mined from an organization's electronic health records systems to aid in meeting core measures reporting requirements. The university will first mine ejection fraction results for acute myocardial infarction and congestive heart failure patients.
