Two critical access hospitals return as clients of CPSI

* Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville, Ga., and Veterans Memorial Hospital in Waukon, Iowa, have contracted with CPSI for its electronic health record and financial management software. The critical access hospitals both had been previous clients of CPSI, had signed for services with other technology vendors, but have decided to return to CPSI. Liberty Regional realized the Evident Thrive EHR had more depth and functionality and then conducted an analysis and found it had not been using Evident to its full potential, according to Michael Hester, CEO. Michael Meyers, CEO of Veterans Memorial Hospital, says he hopes CPSI’s systems will reduce billing problems and return the facility to financially viability, says.

* University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas, a long-time client of workforce management vendor Kronos, has added another module, going live on the Workforce periOp Scheduler software to fully automate and streamline employee scheduling in the perioperative services department. The new system replaces a manual process and has helped increase employee engagement with balanced nurse work schedules and clinician on-call staffing.



* Catholic Medical Center, a 330-bed facility in Manchester, N.H., has selected the CareInMotion population health management platform of Allscripts to support a new model of integrated care. An existing client, the medical center recently expanded its relationship with the vendor to develop a single comprehensive patient record across all hospital departments and ambulatory care.

* Great Lakes Health Connect, a health information exchange in Michigan serving 129 hospitals and 4,000 provider organizations, has selected Holon Solutions to deliver “intelligent alerts” that address patient needs. Holon’s CollaborNet software will integrate clinical and non-clinical data, including social determinants. When a patient’s record is opened, Holon, which is the “intelligent alert,” senses the open record and starts searching for other records associated with the patient. It examines the records and creates appropriate alerts for physicians that appear in the top right corner of the workflow. Alerts could cover coding and risk adjustment opportunities, gaps in care and identity of members in managed populations, among other issues.

* Adventist Health System in Florida will use the diabetes therapy management and medication software of Glytec at 39 of its acute care facilities. The cloud-hosted system is designed to contribute to the standardization of care for patients undergoing insulin therapy in an intensive care or critical care unit as well as on a medical-surgical floor. The software also supports hyperglycemia surveillance, glycemic status monitoring, analytics and hospital-to-home planning.
