Trinisys Acquires MICA Health

Two large companies providing data archiving and migration services for healthcare organizations are merging, hoping to provide services to more healthcare organizations as they consider switching electronic health records systems.

Nashville, Tenn.-based Trinisys has completed the acquisition of Buford, Ga.- based MICA Health, which manages the data archiving and migration of ambulatory clinical data for more than 135 facilities and practices in 25 states.

Trinisys says the combined companies now have the capacity to meet the data archival and migration needs of most of the healthcare industry.

The need for healthcare data migration services is growing as a result of increasing merger and acquisition activity, and healthcare organizations making the decision to replace EHRs.

But transitions of systems are rising in complexity and cost, and provider organizations are increasingly looking for products and services that can enable them to “decommission clinical applications and securely move historical clinical data to on premise or cloud hosted solutions,” said Antoine Agassi, CEO and chairman of Trinisys.

Trinisys was founded in 2004, and offers services to healthcare organizations including enterprise data captures, data integration and web application solutions.

It offers ClearView HRV, which is hosted at Amazon Web Services and provides easy and secure access to historical data while delivering measurable benefits that include removing the task of retrieving historical information stored in disparate non-strategic systems; eliminating the costs of retaining legacy systems, and streamlining release of information requests.

The ClearView HRV portal is customizable and enables access through a common viewer embedded within the client’s EHR.

The terms of the deal have not been disclosed.
