Guadalupe County Hospital, a 10-bed facility in Santa Rosa, N.M., will implement the OpenVista electronic health record software of Medsphere Systems Corp., Carlsbad, Calif.
Guadalupe County Hospital, a 10-bed facility in Santa Rosa, N.M., will implement the OpenVista electronic health record software of Medsphere Systems Corp., Carlsbad, Calif.
The hospital also has outsourced its information technology operations to Phoenix Health Systems, Dallas. The consultancy has partnered with Medsphere to target software and services to small rural and community hospitals. Their first joint client was Columbia Basin Hospital in Ephrata, Wash.
Guadalupe County Hospital has a full-time staff of 25 including administrators. CEO Christina Campos, for instance, also serves as COO, CIO and the head of marketing. The hospital serves the entire county of less than 4,700 residents and has about 250 annual admissions and 2,500 emergency room visits.
Under a five-year contract, Phoenix Health Systems will implement and support OpenVista, and provide service desk, end-user device management, infrastructure support, application management and I.T. leadership services.
