The Patient Privacy Rights organization will host the 2nd International Summit on the Future of Health Privacy, June 6-7 in Washington.

Keynote speakers are Farzad Mostashari, M.D., national coordinator for health information technology; and Ross Anderson, Ph.D., professor of security engineering at the University of Cambridge Computer Laboratory in England.

Sessions will cover patient stories about privacy losses, the risks and benefits of electronic health records, the basics of health privacy law, whether there is too much or too little privacy regulation, opportunities and risks from release and sale of health data, the effects of social media and mobile devices on privacy, and technologies to enhance patient control over health information, among others.
