The Ninth National Medical Banking Institute returns with a three-day show, Feb. 20-22, during HIMSS11 in Orlando.

The Sunday-Tuesday institute will open with a roadmap for preparing for the HIPAA 5010 transactions sets and the benefits of compliance, which is required by January 2012. The next session will bring in the banking component, explaining how banks bring value to the current administrative processes and future convergence of banking and health care systems.

All total, the institute will offer 15 sessions and a tour of the annual and always expanding Interoperability Showcase. Sessions will cover such areas as privacy and security in banking relationships, medical consumerism, banks' roles in health care reform, regulatory updates, ICD-10 strategies, and the Medicare Recovery Audit Contractor program.
