Patient care research firm ECRI Institute has launched the User Experience Network to aid medical technology purchasers with user satisfaction ratings and other purchasing information.

The network is a new part of the institute’s SELECTplus capital procurement advisory service. The first technology on the new rating service is CT scanning. ECRI surveyed nearly 300 CT users on such criteria as price, training, service response times, performance, ease of use, dose control functionality and image quality. ECRI experts also looked into safety issues, alerts and recall data on 17 CT systems. More information on the advisory service and getting a copy of the CT report is available by sending an email to Jennifer Myers, jmyers@ecri.org.

ECRI next will look at physiologic monitors for an analysis available in July 2013.
