San Antonio HIE Selects Mana Health Portal Platform

Healthcare Access San Antonio, the health information exchange for south central Texas, has selected New York City-based Mana Health's Patient Gateway as its patient portal. Once completed, Mana Health says the portal will be the first of its kind in Texas to give patients an aggregated medical record across multiple organizations from a single community portal.

Expected to launch by July 1, 2014, the MyHASApatient portal will be available to the 2 million residents in HASA's 22-county service area, and will serve to facilitate access to and engagement with their personal healthcare data.

Through the portal, patients will be able to directly access their heath data from any Internet-connected device, view personalized educational information, communicate with their healthcare providers via secure messaging, and track the progress and status of specific conditions.

Additional features will include a proxy setting so a patient's designated family members can access and transmit information; self-reported data capabilities; user device integration capabilities; and Spanish language capabilities.
