Drug store chain Rite Aid will use the clinical network of Surescripts to transmit patient immunization notifications to physicians.

The service, designed to better coordinate care between the retail pharmacy and its customers’ providers, will send notifications electronically, via a fax or by mail. Rite Aid expects to have the connectivity available in its 4,600 stores within a few weeks.
