The RelayHealth division of McKesson Corp. now supports use of the “Blue Button” initiative to enable consumers to download their health information on the RelayHealth network and share it with providers.

With help from the Markle Foundation, the Departments of Veterans Affairs and Defense, and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services developed Blue Button in 2012 to enable beneficiaries to access their claims and medical information in a common format.

Now, RelayHealth, which includes a claims clearinghouse, health information exchange technology and other connectivity services, will permit access to medications, lab results and other information that providers make available. More information is available at, then click on the Blue Button.
